Compressive Behavior of Corroded RC Columns Strengthened With Ultra-High Performance Jacket

This paper performed compressive tests on corroded reinforced concrete (RC) columns with externally confined ultra-high performance (UHPC) jacket. The studied parameters in this testing program was the corrosion ratio of specimens. influences parameter behavior by UHPC jacket reported and discussed. test results revealed that when rust rate less than 20%, axial cracking typical failure mode unreinforced specimens, cracks rusted area gradually increased increase rate. When reached 30%, protective layer fell off significantly, longitudinal reinforcement also yielded. ultimate load peak displacement specimens were significantly improved, improvement rates two more 80% respectively. specimen a 30% changed to layer. An analytical model proposed predict RC strengthening validations predictions against confirmed accuracy model.
